and I thought it was about time I commented on it, but before that I’ll give you a little background information.
I’ve loved Brand New for 6 years now, I remember the exact moment I first heard their music. I was in Prague, crossing a road in the snow when my sister gave me one of her ear phones…
So I’ve been a fan of Brand New for about ten years now. I listen with a dedication one normally reserves for religion. Pouring over Jesse’s lyrics like a bible of broken dreams, angst & desperation.His words cut through me like a hot knife through butter. They echo my own feelings, my anger, my fears and my pain. They comfort me. They encourage & they inspire. They repair. They heal.
Tomorrow night I will finally be seeing Brand New live for the first time. I can’t explain how I feel. It’s not excitement. I’m not anxious. I’m not nervous. But I am worried about how I’ll reract to hearing the songs I love, the songs that have gotten me through some of the toughest parts of my life, hearing them live, seeing the words fall out of Jesse’s mouth… Will I divide & fall apart?
